CLIO, S.C. (March 19, 2026) — Maxwood Furniture partnered with nonprofit Operation Save the Day to provide essential furniture donations to families in need during a community distribution event at East Clio Apartments.

The event, held Thursday afternoon, served residents of the 60-unit apartment complex, with organizers expecting to reach between 200 and 300 individuals, including families with children.

The donation is part of Operation Save the Day’s broader mission to support families facing hardship by providing essential household items and resources that help create stable living environments.

“At Maxwood, we believe furniture is the foundation of a home,” said Anne Jensen, chief marketing officer of Maxwood Furniture. “Partnering with Operation Save the Day gave us the opportunity to put that belief into action, and to support families in our own backyard who are working hard to build stability for themselves and their children.”

Diamond Huggins, director of Operation Save the Day, said the partnership with Maxwood Furniture began after a visit to the company’s warehouse in Mullins, South Carolina.

“The staff in the office were incredibly welcoming and supportive, and they took the time to learn about our mission and how furniture donations could make a real difference in the lives of families we serve,” Huggins said.

Huggins said Maxwood stood out for its commitment to community impact.

“From the moment I spoke with the team, it was clear that they genuinely care about making an impact beyond business,” she said.

“This is exactly the kind of impact we want to be part of,” Jensen added.

Furniture donations play a critical role in helping families rebuild after difficult circumstances, according to Huggins.

“Many of the families we serve are starting over after hardship,” she said. “Something as simple as a bed, dresser or table can restore comfort, confidence and hope to a household.”

The donated items, including beds, dressers and tables, will be distributed through community outreach initiatives and housing partnerships, reaching families transitioning into stable housing, veterans and others in need.

Huggins said the impact of these donations extends beyond immediate needs.

“Every piece of furniture helps transform a house into a home,” she said.

The March 19 distribution was supported by several partners, including Walmart and Harvest Time, alongside Maxwood Furniture and other contributors.

Huggins said partnerships like this are essential to expanding the organization’s reach.

“Support from Maxwood Furniture means a great deal to our organization,” she said. “It shows that when businesses and community organizations work together, real change can happen.”

Looking ahead, Huggins expressed hope that the collaboration will continue to grow.

“With continued collaboration, we believe we can expand our outreach efforts and make an even greater impact in communities that need support the most,” she said.
